An interactive AI adviser from German manufacturer igus uses application databases to help shorten the time it takes to find the right components used in building cost-effective robot systems.

Igus’ new AI chatbot has been added to the online platform RBTX.com. The interactive consultant is designed to enable companies to quickly put together low-cost automation (LCA) solutions.

“A lot of companies already know that automation offers enormous potential for meeting the challenges of a rapidly changing working world. However, the crucial question remains: how do you implement them?" notes igus VP and head of business unit low-cost automation Alexander Mühlens.

“RBTX provides the answer: there are over 500 robot solutions on the online marketplace. Even companies with no prior knowledge of robotics can put together cost-effective LCA solutions according to the plug-and-program principle,” says Mühlens.

Igus explains that it aims to enable guaranteed interoperability of all the components it offers, ensuring that the correct purchase is made every time. The AI adviser interacts with interested parties to reduce the time spent searching for components in an ever-increasing range.

The AI chatbot supports multiple different languages and can be used with igus South Africa’s robotics buying pages where users can match suitable LCA components through written interaction. The AI draws on empirical data from hundreds of projects that companies have already successfully automated with the help of RBTX.
